A Friend (Altered Art)

Ah well.. I didn't make it to the Lily Bee Design Team. Bummer, I know. BUT there's always next year, folks! We'll definitely try again. We're going to get in that team or die trying! LOL ;) I really meant everything I said in my previous post, though. Lily Bee's products are really beautiful. And it's true that it was the first time that I was able to complete my layout without difficulty. Everything just easily came together and I just love how it turned out. So let's wait for another year and try again next time. Meanwhile, let's use the time to practice, practice, practice and practice some more. :)

Here's a simple altered item I made. It used to be a cellphone holder made of thick layered cardboard. I decided to turn it into a pen/pencil holder, covered the whole thing with patterned paper and embellished it with lace and chipboard cutouts. I made the blue flower out of circles that I cut out from a wide ribbon and finished it with a pearl at the center. It gives the project a bit more color and charm, don't you think? :)

Here are the challenges:

Craft Your Passion - anything goes
House of Gilli - ribbons and pearls
Make It Monday - anything goes
Simon Says Stamp and Show - anything but a card
Squigglefly - they're only words
I Did It Creations - anything goes
Anything Goes - make your own embellishments
The Stamping Boutique - handmade flowers
Simply Create - do it yourself

Thanks for visiting my blog today! I'm a bit sad but I do hope your mood is better than mine. :)

I think this is a fabulous way to repurpose the old cell phone holder. The paper and lace is a really pretty combination.

Thank you for sharing over at Make it Monday and good luck with our DT call.
